I am Iris Babao Uy from the Philippines, a Sweetheart member of the Product Team.

I got hooked to scrapbooking after trying to organize my baby’s photos but have been left unsatisfied with ordinary photo albums. For me, scrapbooking can be as simple as an alternative to a photo album, or may be as intricate as a delicate piece of art. Scrapbooking is not just a hobby for me - but an art and a lifestyle as well.

I love using fibers, embellishments, rub-ons, acrylic paint, pigment inks, and lots of patterned paper layered with vellum. I like to give my pages dimension and lots of layers so that every time you look at a layout, you always discover something new. I make it a point that my pages reflect the emotion and story behind every photo. It is another way to tell a story in a very creative and heartfelt manner.

Most say that my style is shabby chic and romantic. I’d like to think of my style as free, full of heart, romance, and imagination. I rarely plan my pages – I let a photo or a patterned paper inspire me and I take it from there. Most of my pages have hidden journaling with love letters to my family, or frames that open to more pictures and journaling.

Aside from being an avid scrapbooker who dreams and obsesses about patterned papers and page ideas all day, I am married, with a beautiful and sweet 2 year old girl named Nicole Breanna. I am also a pianist and a partner in an events management company. I’m also a very active person who frequents the gym, joins 5k and 10k marathon runs, and climbs mountains.
